MACEDON, NY (December 8, 2006) – Fairport Products Holding Company Inc. in Macedon, NY, has completed the aquisition of the Auburn Ball Bearing division of Victor-based M.D. Knowlton Co. for an undisclosed sum, the company reported today. Fairport Products designs and manufactures power transmission components and equipment. The company, founded 14 years ago, serves a variety of industries, including machine automation, automotive and food production. Auburn Ball Bearing designs, manufactures and supplies thrust bearings and power transmission solutions.
Both companies will operate out of Fairport Products Macedon-based manufacturing facility. The firm has roughly six employees, including the acquisition, company officials said.
Peter Schroth, president of both companies, said the acquisition expands Fairport Products products and services. “The advantages we can now offer our customers with the combined product lines were just too good to pass up,” Schroth said.
