Auburn “V” Groove Reduces Friction & Drag in Thrust Bearings

The balls in conventional thrust bearings are in constant contact with the round or radius grooves. This creates friction, building up heat and reducing load capacity. Auburn Bearing & Manufacturing has redesigned the groove to an uneven “V” configuration, reducing friction and drag. This results in cooler temperatures, longer life and increased load capacity.

2900 Metric Thrust Ball Bearing Interchange with Nylon Retainer

Just a friendly reminder to let you know that Auburn Bearing & Manufacturing offers an interchange for the 2900 Series Metric Ball Thrust Bearing. This interchange features a nylon retainer and is available with ID ranges from 10mm (0.394 inch) to 140mm (5.512 inch) and OD ranges from 26mm (1.024 inch) to 185mm (7.283 inch).

Auburn Ball Bearing Announces Name Change

Fairport Products purchased the Auburn Ball Bearing and tube winder product lines from M. D. Knowlton Company in August of 2006. Since that time the companies have been known as two separate entities – Fairport Products and Auburn Ball Bearing. Now the two will become one company known as Auburn Bearing & Manufacturing.

A Long History and a Little Memorabilia

It’s true… we have been in the bearing business for a long time now. Auburn Ball Bearing was established in 1898. Recently, we came across this piece of memorabilia from our early years and wanted to share it with you. It is from an exhibit at the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis, Missouri.
